Usability Evaluation of the Mobile Cognitive Activity Program Application

Abstract
|
|
|
Objective : This study aimed to assess the user evaluation of the Mobile Cognitive Activity Program application which was developed to improve the cognition of the elderly.
Methods : We conducted a usability test of 6 experts and 5 elderly with normal cognition. The usability evaluation of the developed apps was based on the professional (MARS) evaluation tool and the user (uMARS) evaluation tool. Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 27.0.
Results : The results of the usability test of the Mobile Cognitive Activity Program were 4.13(±0.26) for professionals and 4.00(±0.12) for the elderly. The expert group obtained the highest score in the aesthetics category, and the user group obtained the highest score in the subjective app quality category. Both groups received low ratings in terms of engagement through participation. From the result of the usability evaluation using MARS and uMARS, the Mobile Cognitive Activity Program application showed an appropriate level of usability.
Conclusion : This study also supplements the technical aspects of the application, and it will be a meaningful source of data while conducting a large-scale usability evaluation.
